Air Chief Marshal Sir Arthur Barratt was 'Gentleman Usher' to the Sword of State of Great Britain and the British Empire - which, at that time, included Hong Kong and India - his duties included parading the sword alongside the King & Queen in parliament.

His colleagues included the distinguished General Martin, who informed a committee convened at Buckingham Palace discussing the UFO phenomenon that the General believed that 'flying saucers' were alien vehicles from a highly developed planet whose inhabitants were "trying to warn us of the perils of nuclear war"...
