James Churchward was a military man who, in 1926, claimed that while he was a soldier in India, he befriended a high-ranking 'Sadhu' priest who showed him a set of ancient clay tablets.

The tablets contained symbols which would later enchant Churchward, who dedicated many years of his life to deciphering them.
